iCity Public Consultation and Exhibition for Press and Broadcast Centres

iCity, the preferred bidder for the Olympic Press and Broadcast Centres  (the big grey building opposite Wick Village)  is holding a public exhibition and community consultation at Cre8 centre (old Baths) in Hackney Wick and Hackney Services Centre.

We will be able to view iCity’s plans, speak to members of their team and give our views on their proposals.

One thing of concern to Wick Village is that we have been told that iCity would like to keep the 'temporary car park', this is something we will be able to ask them about as well as other issues such as increased traffic, light pollution, noise, construction work, landscaping and employment opportunities.

About the public exhibitions
iCity will host four days of public exhibitions at the following times and venues:

  • Friday 15 March, 10:30 – 8pm: Cre8 Lifestyle Centre, The Old Baths, 80 Eastway, Hackney Wick, London, E9 5JH
  • Saturday 16 March, 10am – 4pm: Cre8 Lifestyle Centre, The Old Baths, 80 Eastway, Hackney Wick, London, E9 5JH
  • Monday 18 March, 9am – 5pm: Hackney Services Centre, 1 Hillman Street, E8 1DY
  • Tuesday19 March, 9am – 5pm: Hackney Services Centre , 1 Hillman Street,  E8 1DY

Data Protection Breach

Following a complaint to the ICO, we have been informed of a data protection breach by the LLDC. The planning officer revealed personal email addresses of people who had commented on Gainsborough Bridge planning application in a group email. All the affected people have been contacted by LLDC and can make a complaint or request an internal review if they are not satisfied with the LLDC's response.

Hackney Council Marshes Consultation

Hackney Council are planning to apply for Planning Inspectorate (PINS) consent to hold public entertainment events on Hackney Marshes. This would mean more festivals and events being held there, like the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend event last summer.

Have your say by filling in the council's questionnaire here.

Bridge Planning Meeting

The Gainsborough School replacement bridge planning meeting has been postponed to March 27. This is because we said that they had not given us enough notice - their guideline says five working days and they gave us four. The letter was dated 13 February but postmarked 18 February.

Click here to see LLDC's document for the meeting.

Cleaning Boat is Out!

The Canal River Trust cleaning boat was out on the Lea Navigation today! I spoke to the driver who was great and sounds like he has a very difficult job with lots of river to look after.
